The Thing 2011 Let's say that movie release date will be October 14, 2011. This is the new release date for The Thing. When I read last week that the launch of the prequel, directed by John Carpenter in 1982, was postponed due to a shadow of uncertainty has swept over the project, especially as a new launch date has not been defined. Soon, however, to appease the souls, director Matthjis van Hejningen Jr. announced that postponement is due to the numerous special effects done in post-production and re filming scenes to improve the movie.

The Thing 2011

The folks at Universal Pictures informs us that The Thing movie will be released in theaters on October 14, 2011. In order not to conflict directly with movie of the same bill (more or less), this movie was set to premiere in April 2011 two weeks after the launch of other horror movie - Scream 4, and a week after Red Riding Hood. But now we know that the things are different and the release date is official in October.

The Thing 2011 was rumored to be a remake of the old one but this version directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, is actually a prequel to the original 1982 John Carpenter.

The plot is relatively simple. A team of scientists go to Antarctica to study a newly discovered alien ship. A mysterious body get rid of because the ship and start to kill randomly. A PhD and a helicopter pilot make a final team to end the massacre.

In an interview to ShockTillYouDrop.com of Joel Edgerton said the new movie will be a prequel that will follow the original in such a way, sometimes one will give in the remake of Sade.

"It's a prequel, and the norwegian is a very faithful copy of the Carpenter's film. Being a prequel will have many scenes that will make contact with the original, and will explain what the basis of Carpenter's film is partially destroyed. All who do this prequel - and Marc Abraham, Eric Newman, makers of Strike Entertainment, and director Matthijs van Heijningen - wearing a huge respect for Carpenter's film. While not trying to do a remake, will still pay homage to the original, "said the actor who will play a helicopter pilot who, along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character, will try to kill the alien creature.

According to the Production Weekly, the prequel The Thing will start filming in March in Toronto. Filming for this great horror movie will begin in March and will continue until June 2010.

Based on a screenplay by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) and Eric Heisserer (The Nightmare on Elm Street remake), the movie is going to tell the story of aliens attacking from the beginning of the Norwegian movie Carpenter's.

Adapted from the original story from the 1951 movie, "Who Goes There?" John Carpenter's movie is also considered today, a work of art, one of those movies that have left their mark on the history of science fiction cinema. New movie The Thing will focus on the story of alien who falls in Atarctica and is found by a Norwegian research team. Strike Entertainment will handle movie production.

Heat Vision announce that Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton will play in this horror movie produced by Universal.

In this movie directed by Matthijs van Heijningen a screenplay written by Ronald D. Moore and Eric Heisserer, Winstead will play a PhD student to join a team of Norwegian research in Antarctica with a mission sent to investigate an alien ship found in ice polar.

But when the creature inside the blocked vessel is inadvertently released, Ph.D. is obligated to make the team because of shock with a helicopter pilot (Edgerton) to end the massacre. The Thing goes into production on March 15.
